Eddie Melendez, the winner, improved to 5-3. He held the Orioles to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Jeremy Coffen finished the game for Tampa Bay and earned his 17th save.
With Tampa Bay leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Silva hit a run-scoring single off Baltimore hurler John McWilliams. It was the 84th hit of the season for Silva and put his team ahead, 2-0.
