The Texas Rangers had to overcome a good performance from Houston pitcher Humberto Valenzuela to claim a 3-2 win at Minute Maid Park. Valenzuela went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Earning his 10th save of the year was Mike Poole. Texas bumps their record to 38-34 with the win.

Texas used a well-timed hit by Adam Dickler to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Rangers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Every loss hurts," said Houston manager Zeb Currier. "But this was a tough one."
