Reds Clonk Cardinals, 9-1
|
Cincinnati catcher Dave Truax had a 3-RBI game, leading his team in its 9-1 defeat of the St. Louis Cardinals. Truax picked up 1 single and 1 double in the ballgame. With the win, Cincinnati pushed its record to 50-24.
Alfonso Tejeda, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tejeda contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the fourth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-0.
Reds manager BJ Gorman had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
