Ortega, Mariners Wallop Red Sox in Game 6 of R3
|
In a crucial game, the Seattle Mariners put on their best show, beating the Boston Red Sox by a final score of 8-0 today. Manny Ortega went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. Seattle and Boston are now tied at 3 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Seattle used the bat of Edgar Pino to get the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We've got a great group of guys," Ortega said, "and we're having fun right now."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fenway Park in Boston.
