Phillies Even With Rockies After Home Win
The Philadelphia Phillies and the Colorado Rockies will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Phillies beat the Rockies 6-3 at Citizens Bank Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Philadelphia right-hander Jose Flores had a big role in the win. He threw 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs.

Had Juan Ortiz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ortiz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Phillies.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Flores said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
