Richard, Phillies Sink Padres Again in Game 2
Riding the 2-hit performance of center fielder Jim Richard, the Philadelphia Phillies stopped the visiting San Diego Padres, 10-4, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. Richard was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the Phillies, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when third baseman Daniel Crissey, who signed a 3-year contract worth $47,000,000 on 12/28/2078, hit a run-scoring single. The Phillies went on to win.

Richard said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at The Pound at Seaport Village in San Diego.
