Cubs Deal St. Louis 6-5 Defeat
|
Oscar Cabanas had a good game, but he could not keep the St. Louis Cardinals from falling, 6-5, to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The St. Louis second baseman was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 in the loss. Chicago reliever Jason Zoellner picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Jason Romanchik was saddled with the loss. Chicago now sits at 43-32, while St. Louis falls to 40-35.
Second Baseman Tommy Ash made an impact for Chicago, when he swatted a 2-run double off Tony Villa in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Ash was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Ash told the Chicago Times.
