Anzaldua, Diamondbacks Wallop Braves in Game 1 of R2
The Arizona Diamondbacks started the Division Series in style today, downing the visiting Atlanta Braves at Chase Field by a score of 8-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Diamondbacks designated hitter Ismael Anzaldua went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2.

Mario Payes dealt the Braves a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Arizona leading 1-0, Payes hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run single.

"I thought we played a nice game," Anzaldua told the Arizona Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Chase Field in Phoenix.
