League Championship Series Goes the Distance, Arizona Prevails
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks were paced by a strong offensive output from Dave Pomeroy as they downed the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 to win the League Championship Series.
Arizona won the final game by a score of 4-3 at Chase Field to send themselves off to the World Series.
"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said left fielder Pomeroy, who was named MVP.
For the series, the MVP hit .409 with a .409 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will play against the Detroit Tigers in the next round. Detroit won their series against the Houston Astros 4 games to 3. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
