Seattle Triumphs with Late Surge
The timely hitting of Evan Hendry helped the Seattle Mariners down the Los Angeles Angels, 5-4. Hendry was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Mariners. The win was credited to seven-time All-Star Drew Goodwin in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Drew Greenwell took the loss. Alex Franco, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.

Hendry had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the eighth, when he hit a solo home run. The Mariners went on to win.

"I'm just trying to capitalize on opportunities and be as consistent as I can every day," said Hendry.

At 31-44, the Mariners claim last place in the American League West Division.
