Arizona Absorbs 7-5 Loss to San Diego
|
Chase Field was the site for National League action featuring the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres.
The San Diego Padres defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-5, at Chase Field. San Diego was led by 29-year old first baseman Randy Donahue, who went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2. Chris Pine, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings.
San Diego used a well-timed hit by Jaden Dorsey to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Padres ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Dorsey said after the game.
The first-place Padres bumped their record to 45-31.
