On Road, Giants Top Diamondbacks, 4-2
|
Dave Melton helped his team muscle past the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-2. In the game, the San Francisco left fielder was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2. With the win, the Giants improved to 47-28.
San Francisco third baseman Josh Packard contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a splitter into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 38th hit of the season and put the Giants ahead, 3-2.
"I like our mindset right now," said San Francisco manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
