Nationals Notch 7-4 Win Versus Pirates
|
No one was more impactful than Ben Baker in the 7-4 Washington win over Pittsburgh. Baker, who finished 4th in the NL in home runs with 40 in 2110, went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Matt Arnett, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The first-place Nationals now sit at 45-32.
Baker had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Ian Roth, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Nationals a 6-4 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Baker.
"Glad to go home with a win," said Baker.
