Orioles 2B Garrett goes 3-for-4 in Win
|
The Baltimore Orioles beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-1, at PNC Park. The win was due in part to shortstop Brian Garrett, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Jose Savala, now 8-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The second-place Orioles now have a record of 44-33.
With Baltimore leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Garrett batted against Pittsburgh pitcher Josh Schumann. Garrett hit a fastball to left for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Orioles on top, 3-0.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Garrett told the Baltimore Bulletin.
