Earle Twirls a Gem for Toronto
|
Toronto picked up a win at Comerica Park, bumping off the Detroit Tigers, 3-0. Pitcher Greg Earle was a major reason the Blue Jays emerged victorious. Victor Urueta finished the game for Toronto and earned his 4th save. Toronto is now 49-29, while Detroit is 45-31.
It was a remarkable effort from Earle, who is one of the team leaders. Earle recorded 6 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 1 hit. Earle, who is tied for 10th in the AL in wins with 7, moves to 7-2 on the year with 84 strikeouts.
"Good win for us," said Earle. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
