The Minnesota Twins got a stellar effort from pitcher Russell Cottrell, helping Minnesota score a win over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-2. The save was credited to Matt Gromaski, his 11th. Minnesota is now 42-36. Pittsburgh is 37-41.

Cottrell allowed no runs over 6.2 innings. He also racked up 9 strikeouts.
