Bruder Schools New York in 5-2 Philadelphia Triumph
The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, knocking off the New York Mets, 5-2. Starting pitcher Jimmy Bruder was a big reason why. At 43-33, the Phillies claim first place in the National League East Division.

Bruder, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 10 in 6.2 innings and gave up no runs.

Bruder, who led the NL in strikeouts with 251 in 2104, moves to 8-4 on the year with 115 strikeouts.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Bruder.
