St. Louis Dispatched, 10-5, by Milwaukee
The Milwaukee Brewers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by St. Louis center fielder Rich Rivas by beating the Cardinals, 10-5, at Miller Park. Rivas was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jesus Delgadillo, now 7-4, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Luke Deyo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Eric Walsh took St. Louis hurler Andy Bourdeau deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Brewers on top, 5-3. In all, Walsh had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Walsh told the Milwaukee Chronicle.

Milwaukee currently is in last place in the National League Central Division at 31-48.
