Wildcard Series Game 1 Victory for Torres and Atlanta
The Wildcard Series got off to a quiet start today, with the host Atlanta Braves taking a low-scoring 2-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Atlanta right-hander Tony Torres was marvelous at Coca-Cola Field. The Braves now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

Torres tossed 90 pitches over 6 innings to clinch the win for the Braves. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.

"Best-of-3 series are brutal," Pittsburgh manager Art Matlock said. "You can get into trouble so fast. We can't afford any mistakes now."

Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6th, 2065 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. The scheduled starters for the game are Josh Jackson for Atlanta and Pedro Baker for Pittsburgh.
