Thrilling Win Pushes Saranac Lake to Next Round
There was no room for error for the Saranac Lake Surge and the Plattsburgh Thunderbirds in the Wild Card Single Elimination Round 1. Win and move on, lose and go home.

"We kept telling the guys in the clubhouse that there was no tomorrow," said Surge third baseman Kevin Hunter, shortly after his team eliminated the Thunderbirds by a 11-3 score to advance to the Championship Series. "This type of single-elimination game is great for the fans, and thankfully, more so for our fans this time around."

Hunter went 2-for-3 in the game to lead his team to victory and was named the MVP.

The Saranac Lake Surge don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Tupper Lake RiverPigs - Georgia Rhinos series. That series is tied at 0 games apiece. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Single Elimination Round 1 finishes.
