Hustle Use Late Score to Top Mets, 2-1

The New York Mets went down to defeat to Jose Savala and his Las Vegas teammates. The final score was 2-1, in favor of the Hustle. Mason Martindale earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Las Vegas goes to 40-38, New York to 35-42.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Michinao Morioka came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New York pitcher Gil Hormann, he hit a 2-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Las Vegas on top, 2-1.
"The key for me has just been attacking the zone and hitting my spots. When I'm throwing strikes and not falling behind in counts, those are the days when I pitch really good," said Savala.
