The Houston Astros knocked off the Texas Rangers, 9-6, at Minute Maid Park. Johnny Johnson hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 4 runs. Houston reliever Ethan Gordon picked up the win. Keith Strickland, who is tied for 5th in the AL in holds with 8, took the loss for Texas. Jeff Hank was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 19 save opportunities.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Astros grabbed the lead when Johnson hit his 18th double of the season. The 2-run double off Keith Strickland made it 8-6, Houston.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Houston skipper Zeb Currier.

The win puts Houston at 45-36 this season.
