The Houston Astros topped the Texas Rangers by the score of 8-3, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Frank Kelsay. Kelsay went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Astros. With the win, Houston upped its record to 42-39.

Kelsay contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Houston in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Kelsay took a slider from Imre Wenner and stroked the home run to left. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Astros to leap in front, 3-2.

"We'll try to build on that win," Kelsay told the Houston Citizen.
