The Texas Rangers powered past the Houston Astros, 10-6, at Minute Maid Park. Justin Finster provided some of the pop. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Heitaro Nishimoto picked up the win, lifting his record to 10-2 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 2 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 6 runs. The first-place Rangers lifted their record to 50-32.

Texas used a well-timed hit by Drew Mooney to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"This is truly a great team to play with," Mooney said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
