Twins Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers, Joel Kull was the X factor. The Minnesota right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The second-place Tigers have lost 5 consecutive games.
Minnesota got a knockout punch from Kurt Villarreal. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling.
