Atlanta Defeated By Cubs, 6-5
|
Michael Waters knocked in 3 runs to help Chicago beat Atlanta, 6-5. Waters produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Chicago reliever Takaya Tabuchi snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Evan Terhaar shouldered the loss. Chicago, at 50-33, holds down second place in the National League Central Division.
Chicago won the game in part because of Tommy Ash. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cubs ahead, 5-4. For the game, Ash had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"It felt good to put the barrel on the ball," said Ash.
