Orioles Capture Extra-Inning Win
|
The Baltimore Orioles handed the Toronto Blue Jays an extra-inning, 6-5 defeat at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Right Fielder Jeremy Tackett starred for Baltimore. He went 2 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit 2 times. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Baltimore reliever Matt Olson got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Jay Courtney was tagged with the loss. Baltimore is third in the American League East Division with a record of 42-41.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Baltimore. That's when Tyler Cone hit a solo home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jay Courtney to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Cone told the Baltimore Bulletin.
