The New York Yankees received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Dan Simon, allowing them to shoot down the Colorado Rockies, 4-1. Zach Rogers notched his 16th save of the season. New York sits in last place in the American League East Division at 32-50.
Hugo Vitagliano had a direct impact on the outcome. Vitagliano contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put New York up, 2-0.
