Rays Subdue Milwaukee, 5-3
|
Tampa Bay right-hander Scott Kocis pitched his team to victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at Jon Nunez Sr. Stadium. The final score was 5-3. Kocis got the win, improving to 4-4. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 5.1 innings. Kocis allowed 1 run. The third-place Rays go to 40-43.
The Rays got a big at-bat from catcher Cesar Escamilla, who in the bottom of the first hit a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Rays on top, 5-1.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Tampa Bay skipper Domingo Arredondo. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
