Drew Mooney led Texas to a win over Kansas City. The final score was 14-5. Mooney, who is tied for 5th in the AL with a .314 batting average, collected 3 RBI, while going 4 for 5 at the plate. Brent Jarzynka had a big 3-run home run for the Rangers in the bottom of the second inning. With Texas trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from Scott Bowling, who finished 2nd in the AL in ERA with 2.99 last year, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 4-2.

"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Jarzynka.
