Roberts Holds Los Angeles Hitless
|
It was a fantastic day for Minnesota Twins starter Mike Roberts and a lousy day for the Los Angeles Angels.
The Minnesota hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Angels, as the Twins cruised to a 3-0 win. When it was all over, Roberts was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.
"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Roberts said later.
He rang up 11 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks while shutting Los Angeles down at Target Field.
This season, Roberts has worked 120 innings with 83 strikeouts en route to a 8-7 record and a 3.23 ERA.
