The Los Angeles Angels beat the Oakland Athletics, 7-4, in 10 innings. Los Angeles designated hitter Ben Abbott, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. Los Angeles used the clutch hitting of Matt Martinez to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Angels ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
