Big Day for Reese as Blue Jays Down Rays, 8-4
A 4-RBI performance from the former first round draft pick Joe Reese helped the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-4. Mike Williams got the win, improving to 6-5. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. John Ferch was credited with the save for Toronto, his 10th of the season.

With Toronto leading 5-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Reese batted against Tampa Bay pitcher Nick Miller. Reese hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Blue Jays on top, 8-1.

"We're producers not directors," said Reese. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."

Toronto is now 32-54, Tampa Bay 53-34.
