Cardinals Get 5-0 Win Versus San Diego
|
The St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Bill McEnerney, who is tied for 6th in the NL in wins with 8, was terrific for the St. Louis Cardinals in his team's 5-0 triumph over the San Diego Padres. His performance earned McEnerney rave reviews. The winning pitcher was McEnerney, now 8-4. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Chris Rapley picked up the save for St. Louis, his 3rd of the year.
The St. Louis dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Cardinals put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
The Cardinals raised their record to 41-45.
