Blue Jays Turn Back Philadelphia, 2-0
|
Toronto third baseman Justin Dupree made his presence felt in the 2-0 Blue Jays triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies. Dupree went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. Ivan Juarez got the save, the 5th for him this season. Toronto is now 55-32, Philadelphia 48-39.
The Blue Jays took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Facing Philadelphia hurler Jason Boles with two outs, Dupree hit a run-scoring single.
Afterward, Blue Jays manager Dan Silva was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
