Tigers Earn 8-4 Win Against Royals
|
Fans who congregated at Kauffman Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.
Mang He made an impact in the 8-4 Detroit win over Kansas City. He, who is on pace for 73 RBI this season, was 1-2 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jim Vickery, now 1-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0.
This game was not decided until Fethi Yazîcîzâde came to bat in the top of the 12th. With runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out, the Detroit catcher hit a sacrifice fly. The Tigers took the lead, 5-4.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Yazîcîzâde told the Detroit Observer.
The 4th-place Tigers raised their record to 41-45.
