A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs.
The Cincinnati Reds knocked off the Chicago Cubs, 10-5, at Great American Ball Park. Jesus Najera hit 2 singles and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. Mike Yates got the save, his 9th in 11 chances.
Tim Mercer, who is tied for 10th in the NL in triples with 6, chipped in for Cincinnati with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"It's good to win," Mercer told the Cincinnati Daily. "I like to have fun doing it."
