Detroit Tigers starter Diego Garzon pitched a strong game against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium, leading the Tigers to victory, 3-2. Garzon picked up the win for Detroit, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2.
In the top of the fourth, with Detroit leading 2-0, second baseman Donald Nohl hit a run-scoring single. The hit came off Rich Maas and put the Tigers ahead, 3-0.
