Dave Salvaggio could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Boston Red Sox lost, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Colorado Rockies at Fenway Park. Colorado pitcher Marcos Ovalle got the win. He's now 5-2. Dave Salvaggio was tagged with the loss. Picking up his 20th save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jon Torres.

The Rockies got a big at-bat from left fielder Francisco Torres. For the game, Torres went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Colorado a 1-0 lead.

"We did just enough to win," Torres said.

The third-place Rockies now have a record of 49-39.
