Good production from left fielder Drew Mooney helped the Texas Rangers topple the New York Yankees, 8-7. Mooney was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Rangers. Texas pitcher Brian Gottstein got the win, upping his record to 3-2. Andy Eason got the loss. The Rangers saw their record improve to 46-42.

The Rangers got a big hit from third baseman Jules Roberts. Facing New York pitcher Austin Stutzman in the top of the seventh, Roberts pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 23rd double of the season put the Rangers ahead, 8-3.

"We scored enough runs to win," said Mooney.
