Griffith Helps Kansas City Bombard Texas
The home crowd had a good time watching the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals get after it.

The performance of Scott Griffith proved critical in helping Kansas City beat Texas, 14-4. The Royals center fielder was 4 for 5 with 2 triples and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Bill Fike earned the win to go to 4-9. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts in 5 innings of work.

Kansas City second baseman Dan Boyd contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a changeup to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Royals ahead, 4-2.
