The Minnesota Twins could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Chris Gurr into a win. Instead, the Seattle Mariners prevailed, 4-3. Gurr threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Alex Franco picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Carlos Mella suffered the loss. The victory puts Seattle at 34-54.

The Mariners got a clutch hit from right fielder John Healey. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Mariners.

In postgame comments, Healey said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
