Kansas City turned a good effort from starter Mike Mask into a win over the Texas Rangers at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals won the game, 5-2. The save went to Ryan Washington, number 22 for him. The Royals have now reeled off 7 straight wins.

Kansas City third baseman Antonio Alvarez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a splitter to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 87th hit of the season and put the Royals ahead, 2-0.

"Mike did a good job mixing and matching," said Kansas City manager Connor Gould.
