Rangers Collect 2-1 Win Over Royals
|
Imre Wenner never let Kansas City get something going. The Texas right-hander commanded his splitter in pitching the Rangers to a 2-1 win. The win belongs to Gabe Osborne in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Jim Garvelink took the loss for Kansas City. Aaron Aycock earned the save, his 15th, for the Rangers.
In the top of the third inning, first baseman Simeone DeVito came through big-time for the Rangers. With Texas trailing 1-0, he belted a solo home run.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Stephen Gesualdi, the Texas skipper. "This one tested us."
Texas, now 45-46, holds down third place in the American League West Division.
