Angels Clonk Guardians, 3-2
|
Danny Sanchez pitched well, but his team, the Cleveland Guardians, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Los Angeles Angels at Progressive Field. Randy Lamb sewed up the save, his 15th. The last-place Angels are now 23-67, the Guardians 49-42.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Randy Valdez to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Angels on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Big team win," Valdez said later.
