Royals Net 3-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox, pitcher Scott Bowling was the difference between victory and defeat. The Kansas City right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-0 Royals win. Bowling, now 6-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Steve Tucker collected save number 4.
Antonio Ventura had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Kansas City. He came through with a 2-run single to put Kansas City in front, 3-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Ventura said after the game.
Kansas City is now 56-36, Chicago 57-35.
