Scott Pabian did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Texas Rangers from being beaten, 9-8, to the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Pabian belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jim Grangroth earned the win for Houston. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 7-3. Picking up his 17th save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Sanchez.

In the bottom of the sixth, Houston shortstop Mike Darling had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and one out, Darling stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 9-3, Houston. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a hit by pitch.

"It feels good, just a great win all around," Darling said after the game.

The 'W' lifts Houston's record to 45-47.
