Twins Walk Off with 3-1 Win
|
Minnesota turned a fine outing from starter Alan Weirauch into a victory over the Tampa Bay Rays at Target Field. The final score was 3-1 in 17 innings. Minnesota is now 52-41, Tampa Bay 49-42.
The decisive blow was delivered by Curt Girardi in the bottom of the 17th when he hit a 2-run home run off fan favorite Henry Vielma to win the game for Minnesota. The home crowd went nuts.
"When Alan is in the zone, it's kind of like -- good luck," said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling.
