The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Citi Field, knocking off the New York Mets, 3-2. On the mound for Texas was left-hander Ricardo Chavez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Victor Luna earned the save, his 6th. With the win, the Rangers have a record of 47-46.

Texas used the timely hitting of Brian Ruble to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Ruble told the Texas Daily News. "And padding the Texas win column."
