Getting a good performance from first baseman Victor Salinas, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 5-4. Salinas slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Dodgers. The Dodgers are now 52-39, while the Reds fall to 63-28.

Salinas had a timely hit for Los Angeles in the top of the eighth. With Cincinnati trailing 4-3, he turned a 0-2 cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Los Angeles.

"We'll try to build on that win," Salinas told the Los Angeles Observer.
