Royals Bounce Yankees, 2-0
|
The New York Yankees got a sterling performance from pitcher Dave Linkous, but the Kansas City Royals still prevailed, 2-0. Linkous threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The Royals' win now puts them at 37-56.
Kansas City grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jorge Castillo delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 1-0 in favor of the Royals.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Castillo told a Kansas City Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
