The Minnesota Twins defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-5, in American League action at Target Field. Minnesota pitcher Josh Schumann had a standout performance. Minnesota now sits at 50-44, while Tampa Bay falls to 39-53.

The Twins were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Bill Widby turned a 1-1 fastball from Todd Curley into a 2-run double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Minnesota a thrilling 6-5 win.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Minnesota skipper Chris Greuling. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
